Emmy-Nominated Producer Alexandra Ryan got her start as a Creative Executive at Paramount Pictures under studio head Sherry Lansing. Those were invaluable days learning the fundamentals of story development and how to support talent.
Under the banner of Attaboy Films, Ryan became producing partners with iconic actor James Gandolfini. Together they produced the combat trauma documentaries for HBO Documentaries, ALIVE DAY and WAR TORN. The documentaries garnered several awards, including an Emmy nomination and the first TV Academy's Television with a Conscience honor. Their film, HEMINGWAY AND GELLHORN, was produced by HBO Films, premiered at the Cannes Film Festival, and earned seventeen Emmy nominations, winning two.
James Gandolfini's sudden passing was a terrible loss to the artistic world. Beginning a new chapter, Ryan opened Stone Cottage Films (named after Eleanor Roosevelt's sacred home) and focused on the non-fiction space. Ryan has developed shows with FX, Netflix and CBS and is currently in development on a documentary based on an iconic book about PTSD and untreated trauma.
